We're sitting here, anchored in the Ashley River and a neighbor boat is
sinking. Called Coast Guard this morning and they came out and took
pictures. No one onboard so their involvement ended. As the hours go by,
the boat is sinking further, and no other activity has been noted to
prevent it becoming a reef. Boat's been red tagged before this event
started, so that at least has been done.
Okay, all that I understand, but my thoughts are instead of having it sink
and become a navigational danger, why not have someone just come and at
least tow it into the shallows? Yes, I know that there are probably a
multitude of issues here, but I've got the luxury of wanting to think
outside of the 'legal box'.
On the other hand, chock up one more yachting experience!
