“Matriarch: Portraits of Indigenous Women in the Pacific Northwest Fighting for our Collective Future” Opening in the Washington State History Museum Community Gallery February 24

Join us for the first exhibition at our new Museum Store Community Gallery. The exhibition "Matriarch: Portraits of Indigenous Women in the Pacific Northwest Fighting for our Collective Future" by Roxann Murray will be on view from February 24 through May 20, 2024. This exhibition is free and open to all during museum hours; no admission is required to view the community gallery.
The opening reception will occur on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM, commemorating Women's History Month. The closing reception will be held during Third Thursdays, on May 16, 2024, at 6:00 PM. Masks are recommended for guests attending receptions to protect immunocompromised Elders and partners.
This photography project is funded by the Tacoma Arts Commission through the Artists Initiative Program.
