View all threadsHi CollectionSpacers, We would like to do a batch import from an Excel
spreadsheet into CSpace 2.0. We're trying to adjust the object data that does
not have a designated destination field in CollectionSpace. Do any of you
know how to change or add the values on drop-down menu for those specific
fields with drop-downs we want to change? Also, we want to know the
importation sequence based on the fields to confirm the sequence of separate
XML imports. Thanks, Sandra
Hi Sandra,
With sincere apologies for this delayed response:

As I've understood this, the values that appear in many of
CollectionSpace's drop-down menus are currently set in either of two
ways:
By editing term lists, which will affect the contents of any
drop-down menus that draw their terms from such a list:
http://wiki.collectionspace.org/display/UNRELEASED/How+to+add%2C+edit+and+remove+terms+of+a+term+list
For all other drop-down menus, by editing configuration files within
CollectionSpace's application layer.
If you would like more details on the latter, please let us know and
we can point you to the relevant instructions.
Also, we want to know the
importation sequence based on the fields to confirm the sequence of separate
XML imports. Thanks, Sandra
Could you describe a bit more what you are trying to do here? Are
you using the Imports Service (e.g.
http://wiki.collectionspace.org/display/UNRELEASED/How+to+Import+Data
and also http://wiki.collectionspace.org/display/collectionspace/Imports+Service+Home)
to perform your imports, and are you referring to the sequence numbers
listed there, or?
