Georgs, please pass this on to Blair and Elizabeth Rieckmann.
Your 32 ft Nortic Tug is an ideal boat to do the America's Great
Loop Cruise. We definately would recommend against a boat with a
beam wider than 14 ft because typically the only space you will fit
at most marinas on the Loop will be at a T-head (with the exception
of a few of the larger marinas along the ICW's).
A good rule of thumb is for the boat to be between 32 to 40 feet
(LOA); beam of 12.5 to 14 ft.; draft 4 to 4 -1/2 ft but certainly
under 5 ft if possible (particularly if doing the Canadian heritage
canals; and under 17 ft air height if doing the Lake Champlain
route, but under 19 ft to clear the fixed bridge in Chicago.
They may gain some helpful information by reading our Long Range
Cruising Articles on our web site: <

Encourage them to attend a Trawler Fest (where we started our
research) and then also consider joining the AGLCA
