Join us for great holiday fun on Saturday, December 6, 2014 for the last Pier Peer in Tacoma program in 2014!  Program runs from 7:30 to 9:00 PM.

Bring your family and join Foss Waterway Seaport and Metro Parks Tacoma for a "Pier Peer" aquatic nighttime adventure. Explore the hundreds of mysterious marine life forms — including some pretty "alien" looking creatures drawn to underwater lights placed off our docks.

We will have dockside touch tanks where participants can see and touch creatures brought up from the deep by local divers. Enjoy a "live dive" where participants can talk to our diver while he is diving.  View plankton under a microscope, make an estuary and a gyre and measure the salinity of the water in the Thea Foss Waterway.  After this exciting outdoor adventure, we'll go inside to warm up, drink hot cocoa and decorate cookies to look like your favorite marine creature - a special holiday treat!

Please dress for the weather: The docks can be wet. Please bring your own flashlights; we will provide life jackets as well as scoops to catch sea creatures.

All participants must wear a life jacket! We encourage you to bring your own life jacket if you own one.

COST:
$8 per person. Each child, 8 years of age or older, requires one adult companion.

ADVANCE REGISTRATION: Online. http://www.metroparkstacoma.org/pier-peer 30 person maximum per programs
