The latest word from Canal Corp:

"Mariners are advised that Erie Canal Locks 27, 28A, 28B, 29, and 30 have
reopened.  The western section of the Erie Canal is open from Clyde (mile
209) all the way through to the Niagara River (mile 339) in Tonawanda.

It is anticipated that the central section of the Erie Canal will remain
closed for about a week, due to high water from recent rainfall."

Fred's note:  There's not really any town at Clyde, eastbounders are
recommended to wait it out at Fairport which still has plenty of room and a
lovely port and town.  Lyons is also a good choice, though it is a small
port and may fill up.
