This Sunday, June 5th, soprano Ellaina Lewis<https://www.lainalousoprano.com/about>, youth pianist Calder Failla, and pianist Joe Williams will perform the upcoming Music From Home program, "Inner Songs," spotlighting selected works by contemporary composer Richard Thompson<https://www.richardthompsonpiano.com/> and Florence Price<https://florenceprice.com/>, ending with "How Much Longer" written by Del'Shawn Taylor<https://www.delshawntaylor.com/> in Memoriam of five slain Black lives. Through stirring operatic vocals and jazz-influenced instrumentation, Lewis and Failla will give musical voice to the poetry of Paul Laurence Dunbar<https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poets/paul-laurence-dunbar> and then to countless lost lives, including that of 18-year-old cellist and rising star Mouhamed Cisse<https://theviolinchannel.com/cellist-mouhamed-cisse-shot-killed-protest-racial-rally-philadelphia-rip/>. The audience will get to meet the special guest and composer Richard Thompson! During intermission, everyone will be offered Mexican flan for dessert provided by a Food From Home sponsor.
