CLUB WORKOUT CALENDAR (OCTOBER-DECEMBER 2020) KICKS OFF WITH "GFC WEEK
(October 5-11)"!
Attached is our club workout calendar for the months of October, November,
and December 2020. It has been expertly crafted by our stellar team of
coaches including our Head Coaching Team of Logan Washburn and Brian Kozera
along with our coaches Don Schlichtmann, Dre Barber, Karen Dunn, Jeffrey
Stango, and Don Mack. And it's designed to be printed on a single sheet of
8.5"x11" paper and hung on the fridge so that you always have easy access
to it (as well as a nice regular reminder to Gator Done)!
Also, we are kicking things off in the first full week of October with "GFC
Week"... The fall Gator Fitness Challenge officially begins on Monday,
October 5 (see "Announcements" if you'd like to learn the details and join
the 42 Gators that have already committed!) and our challenge to you is to
complete between October 5-11 at least one of the two weekly challenges,
the SBR Challenge (min of 30 minutes EACH of swim, bike, and run) and the
SCF Challenge (min of 30 minutes TOTAL of strength and/or core and/or
flexibility work), during this kickoff week!
A few calendar highlights and notes...
It actually starts on Friday, October 2 (with the morning swim) as we are
planning to have our last weeknight evening group ride of the year on
Thursday, October 1.
Run workouts are back! Starting on Thursday, October 8, Karen will offer a
weekly run workout that will also occasionally mix in some other fun stuff
to make you a stronger runner/athlete. Watch for Karen's event posts!
Spin workouts are back! This fall they will take place on Wednesday
evenings starting at 6:30pm. And as we've done in the past they will
sometimes include an optional post-ride strength/core/flexibility workout.
Zwift meetups are back! Due to the strong showing at our Zwift meetups
during the early stages of the pandemic, we're going to run them weekly on
Tuesday evenings... We'll offer 60 minute rides that include the "keep
everyone together" feature so that athletes of all riding abilities will
stay together throughout the rides. Watch for event posts with details
about each ride.
Saturday morning "Breakfast Club" bike trainer rides/runs are back! But
not starting until it gets too cold to ride outside. We'll transition to
these indoor workouts at the Y sometime during the second half of November
or early December and more details will be offered at that time.
We will post events and/or surveys for all workouts since we do have
capacity limits and need to monitor attendance, so if you plan to
participate in club workouts, please get in the habit of responding "Going"
on the events and/or indicating on the surveys that you plan to attend.
