The production will be directed by Kathy Pingel. Auditions will be held Sunday, December 15th and Monday, December 16th at Tacoma Little Theatre. Audition appointments will be set starting at 6:00pm on Sunday and 7:00pm on Monday in five-minute increments. Callbacks will be held on Wednesday, December 18th. Though Emma is often exasperated by her highly-opinionated mother, Aurora, they talk every day about their problems, from Aurora finding unexpected love even as she becomes a reluctant grandmother, to Emma's struggle in her troubled marriage. But when they need one another most, will they be able to find courage in each other? This funny and touching story captures the delicate, sometimes fractured bonds between mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, and lovers, both old and new. Auditioners are asked to prepare a short, 1-2 minute, contemporary comedic monologue. Actors of all ethnicities and gender identities are encouraged to audition and all roles are available: Aurora (female, 50-70) mother of Emma with whom she has a complex relationship; Emma (female, 20-39) realistic, feisty when she needs to be, sees the good in life; Garrett (male, 50-69) next-door neighbor to Aurora, a retired astronaut; Flap (male. 20-39) Emma’s high school sweetheart and now wayward husband; Patsy Clark (female, 18-39) Emma’s best friend who continues to college. Also plays additional roles; Doctor Maise (male, 40-69) Emma’s doctor, impatient, brusque, and not very forthcoming.
