This morning from about 1030 to 1130 we boated to Scotch Bonnet Island, 17
Km west of Wellington. En route we estimated about 1500-2000 White-winged
Scoters on the water. They were in small - medium sized flocks ( up to 100
birds) and most were closer to Wellington than to Scotch Bonnet but birds
were visible throughout the trip...we were usually with 1-2 km off the north
shore of the lake (Ontario) at that point.
Wellington can be reached by taking Hwy 525/33 south off the 401 at Trenton
and following 33 all the way to Wellington.....about a 30 minute car drive.
