Subject: Memo: Summary of FY20 LHHS Appropriations Legislation and Joint Explanatory Language
Good afternoon,
On December 16, 2020, House and Senate leadership released the amended text of H.R.1865. This legislation contains 8 of the 12 appropriations bills finalizing funding for Fiscal Year (FY) 2020, including the FY2020 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (LHHS) appropriations legislation. The legislation includes $184.9 billion in discretionary funding for the U.S. Departments of Labor (DOL), Health and Human Services (HHS), and Education (ED) and related agencies, an increase of $4.9 billion over FY2019.
Attached is a summary and analysis of the major education and related provisions of the LHHS section of the bill and joint explanatory statement.
