I have not been on board but have looked at all the literature I could get
my hands on. My observations: Plus side- external access to engines through
deck {should keep accidental fluid spills from creating odor in cabin area},
additional fuel tanks available to extend range. Minus side- small bedrooms
{might make extended cruising uncomfortable}, no electronics included
{radar, gps, depth or any as far I can tell} inclusion of which could easily
put cost in range of others like Bear Cat or Aventure. Since each person has
their own intended thoughts of how they are going to use a boat and
therefore their own needs the Afri-Cat is certainly worth looking at but I
have concerns about a company that issues prices without even the option of
installation of what most of us would consider the bare necessities.

All hands--
The Afri-Cat 420 looks like an appealing yacht for those searching
for a 3- or 4-stateroom power catamaran.
I've only seen the sales literature and photos on the site. If anyone
has had a closer look or been on a sea trial, please post your
observations to the List.
Here are the basic specs: Length -- 42 feet, Beam -- 22 feet, Draft
-- 3 feet, Bridgedeck clearance -- 2 feet 10 inches, Power -- Twin
315-hp Yanmar diesel engines. Base price: US$595,000.

The price list I received included items such as radar, chartplotter,
autopilot, VHF in the base price, and outlined a whole bunch of other
options.
All the pricing is detailed also on the site:

So things must have changed at Africat Marine since your communication.
