Well, what a small world it really is. I had the privlege of participating in this little gathering, as I was in Dana Point completing the sea trial of my new boat. I am purchasing the Nordhavn 40, Alanui. It's a wonderful boat, better than new with only 110 hours on the main and a handfull on the wing. The boat is perfect, just what my wife and I have been waiting for and planning on. We met had the privledge of meeting the previous owners and assured them we would take good care of their boat. They are a delightful pair, retired from Germany and living here in the US. I'm not sure what their next adventure is, but we are fortunate to have found their boat for sale and to be in a position to purchase it.
We were under the excellent care of Jeff Merrill with PAE, who made the purchase painless and simple. From start to finish the transaction has taken about 3 weeks. I wire funds on Monday, so I guess till the funds hit the sellers account I really don't own the boat yet. Anyway we are thrilled and can't wait to bring the boat to Seattle under the command of Mike Maurice, hopefully in the next few weeks. I'll share more of the experience if others are interested, but now our passagemaking planning can begin in ernest.
They say the happiest days are when you buy and sell a boat. With this in mind I need to get going on selling my Camano. In any event, thanks to everyone on the lists for the years of advice. It made me an informed buyer, resulting in no surprises in the process.
Safe Voyages,
Scott Bulger, 40' Nordhavn, Alanui

Que Linda has made it to Dana Point. And thanks to our friends at Nordhavn,
we have a slip. We will be here for two days, Thursday and Friday nights.
To celebrate Que Linda's return to the good old USA, we are having a dock
party. Time and place, Dana Point Marina, L dock, at the end, you can not
miss us. Time 16:00 hours local (4:00 PM) for you lane lovers. The party
will go until we run out of beer and food. We have invited our Nordhavn
friends from the NAR 2004, Atlantic crossing. I hope at least a few of my
friends from Socal can come too. We have been on the boat for five
weeks, so it
will not be fancy. The weather is a little cool, so dress warm. Hope you
all come.

Scott, congrats on your new boat! She is a beauty.
We recently took possession of Kosmos. We just posted some stories, pictures
and videos about it on our blog:
http://kosmos.liveflux.net/blog
People on the list here might be interested in our blog post titled
"Paravanes 101". We took some videos of the deployed system. We also have a
video walkthrough of the boat. Of course you do need some good bandwidth to
watch the videos. Each video on the site varies in size from 2 megabytes to
30 megabytes.

Eric,
Love your web site! Great video of the paravanes. Keep up the good work!
Enjoy the boat, we close on our tomorrow and possibly bring it up early next
week. I'll try to call you prior to coming down. I'm sure we will be in a
hurry to get out of there, but maybe we can meet for coffee or something?
Thanks, scott
