As you all know, if you have following along, we were headed from Panama to
Barillas Marina in El Salvador. Yesterday Hal read about this new marina in
Nicaragua and here we are. We entered at 20:00 last night, not the thing to
do at a strange place. We called on the radio and got an escort in. The
escort boat ran us aground, but as it was low water, we worked our way off
the beach and back into the channel. About 24:00 we tied up to the dock,
and called it a successful arrival. This morning things look different, as
they tend to do, in the light. We are in a beautiful lagoon with shallow
water all around. We just finished lunch, it was of, on the terrace, over
the water. It is warm here, but not as muggy as Panama. We have all called
home via Wifi and Skype. All or our families are fine. We will stay here
until Sunday. At that time we will head to Acapulco, or some place else,
who knows.
We are tied up at Marina Puesta del Sol. We are about 20 miles fro
the city Corinto, Nicaragua. Position is:
12 37.5N by 87 20.5W. We have 5 feet under our keel, and the water
temp is 88. The air temp is 86 days and goes all the way down to 82
at night. What else can I say. I am having a really great time, and
some adventure at the same time.
