I have used the Reverso pump for 20 years with no impeller failure yet. As I recall, Reverso offers two types of impellers, one being more chemically resistant. I use that same pump to change transmission fluid, engine oil, antifreeze and even as a bilge sump to remove a small amount of water that is often below the engine. YMMV Richard P
