Hi Daun, et.al.

First off, great to see you a few weeks ago, thanks for the  stuff! We have
already "distributed" some of the goodies.  What a rainstorm  that day!
Whew!

As to the French guy: Years ago I would have been way more  on-the-alert
for potential soft penetration by foreign intelligence  people.

These days: college students use social media for all kinds of
connections, and I think this guy is just "thinking out of the box". If the  questions
were more specific, or get that way, then no-go.

But he may just be looking for a job. Since something like 80%  of RF
engineers in the USA are 45 or older, he is fishing in the right  pond.....

I work with college students in the day job, as you know, and  so would be
more inclined to pass him along to commercial people, he would not  be able
to work for defense folks anyway due to foreign national.
Maybe he's sharp and will stay and become a US citizen, add to  the tech
base here...

73 to you and all the MVUS guys!

Hi Gang

I just got this interesting email, kind of “out of  the blue” (as far as I
can tell).  It sounds interesting, but not sure  just what to do about it
right now.  I’m wondering if any of the rest of  you might have gotten it as
well.  Check him out on QRZ.com….  interesting.

What do you guys  think?

Dear Daun,

I'm an electrical engineering student from the University of  Rennes in
France (INSA), I'm coming to the RIT, N-Y (Rochester institute of  Technology)
for a semester, in order to study microwave design, MEMs, Project  Senior
and Entrepreneurship. I'm coming 15th August.

Beeing  crazy about VHF/UHF and Microwave operation, I'm coming to you in
order to  make a network and to visit you in the USA in order to discuss
about microwave  operation in the USA, to learn, experiment and exchange with
you, your friend  and passionate people in this frequency. I'll be really
happy to exchange with  american people.

To finish my study, I need to make a "final"  engineer internship of 6
months, and I really wanted to do it in the USA, but  it's very difficult
without knowing people directly in the company. So if you  can send me some
contact who works in the field of measurement, microwave  design, or VHF/UHF. It
really help me.

I can join you my  résumé in english.

I'm really excited to meet  you.

Best regards.

Vincent Gillet  F4GVF.
