This morning at Crosby Pond- 1 Wilson's snipe- tucked in the brush at end
of muddy area which sticks out in the pond (Northeast corner-similar
location as before),1  Canada Goose, 1 Wood duck (drake),  5 Northern
Pintails continue, 4 Mallards.
At Lake Wepawaug-
When I first got there, there were about 100 Canada geese (small number for
that location), but as I was leaving 30 minutes later, several large, noisy
flocks flew in (estimate of another 300)-did a brief scan, but didn't see
any unusual geese.
19 Ring necked ducks, 2 Common Mergansers, 1 Pied Bill grebe,  10 mallards,
2 American black ducks,  many Ring billed gulls, 2 Turkey vultures, 2
Carolina wrens, 2 tufted titmice,
and 1 Crow.

I saw a flock of 37 Common Mergansers on the Mill River in New Haven
this morning at 8:15 just upstream of the East Rock Rd. bridge. Exciting
to see such an aggregation in such a small space.

Ravens are on the nest on the cliff, and one Peregrine Falcon was
perched near their recent nest site.
