Coral snake

Neighbors,

Red next to yellow will kill a fellow! Out for an early morning run in the neighborhood this morning, we came across a coral snake in the middle of the street on Heritage Pass. Couldn’t find a rock fast enough to kill it. It slithered into the grass and we lost it. Glad we had a flashlight because we could have easily stepped right on it. Just warning everyone to keep their eyes open for these venomous creatures!

For what it's worth, coral snakes don't strike like a rattlesnake does.
The sort of need to get a hold on some skin and sort of chew on it.
Yes, they are quite deadly but at least they don't strike which means
that, even had you stepped on the snake, if you weren't bare fotted, you
would probably be pretty safe.
