Quin community,
There are a few items which need addressing at Cook Park. I know there has been much conversation about these items and that others may be working solutions, but I am going to ask for help anyway. Please step up if you can help. I suspect we could take up a collection to cover the materials.
Item 1, Pitch: Does anyone out there have the knowledge or resources to help fix the nasty mud holes and bare spots in the near term (this season)? I tend to think some sod squares, soil, and seed may do the trick, but I'm no landscaper.
Item 2, Posts; The new posts on the West end of the pitch are not yet painted. Does anyone have access to a boom truck (Cherry picker) or man lift that could be used to paint them?
- Field lines: the current field lines are not aligned or centered with respect to the new posts. Is someone willing/able to measure and re-mark the field?
Cheers,
Casey

I think we need to move on the sod bit right after Thursday practice. We
play in Boulder this weekend, then it's ruggerfest, then we play at
Infinity as well as practice being moved next week the field should get
enough down time for the sod to take. Filling those holes with dirt is not
going to cut it we need to put some patches of sod on there

I have been putting things together with Tweak as the point man (Elected
Field Manager). Most of this we are still working out with the parks
department to see what they are capable of doing.
Pitch: Tweak is looking into the parks department getting the filed fixed
and sodded, they may do it for free. If not, chicken is a fantastic
landscaper and Brandon knows a guy.. who knows a guy.. that may be able to
get us some cheap sod. The shed is also under the parks dept. jurisdiction
and could also be a free fix.
Posts: I'd like to strip the other posts too and get both sets freshly
painted.
Field: We can probably get the parks department to reline the field.
Mikhail has a valid point, with some time off cook now is the time to get
it done. I was thinking we could do a giant "quin repair day" and get it
all knocked out at once, that way we have plenty of help.
Once Tweak gets things situated with the parks department, it'll be easier
to put a plan in motion.

I checked with the sod guy...$3 per roll (10 sq. ft.) and he gets surplus
sod Wednesday through Saturday through November. It sounded like he could
easily get us 100sq. ft. but I can't judge the quality of the sod myself.

Item 2, Posts; The new posts on the West end of the pitch are not yet
painted. Does anyone have access to a boom truck (Cherry picker) or man
lift that could be used to paint them?
- Field lines: the current field lines are not aligned or centered
with respect to the new posts. Is someone willing/able to measure and
re-mark the field?
Cheers,
Casey

I checked with the sod guy...$3 per roll (10 sq. ft.) and he gets surplus
sod Wednesday through Saturday through November. It sounded like he could
easily get us 100sq. ft. but I can't judge the quality of the sod myself.
