You may want to check if the only issue is tropical storms.
Presumably, you would be covered vs normal incidents that are not related to tropical storms. If this is the case, you could slip past a little early and work your way slowly toward the panhandle with the idea that if a storm does come up, you could high tail it back to Mobile to stay insured. Most likely, no storm will arise and you can spend a couple extra weeks on the coast.
Obviously verify this with your insurance company.
We kept our original Michigan insurance (allstate) and they allow us pretty much anywhere (bahamas not included).
