Another 24 hours has passed, and we were supposed to be there by now, but
guess what, we are not. The weather and the seas have not been in our
favor. About my watch time last night things got down right bumpy. Seas
only 4 to 6 ft, but close together, and steep. We still have 5.76 miles to
go to the marine, so that means we did 179 in the last 24 hours. We have a
slip reservation, for a day or more depending on weather. After we get in
today, we have a short list of jobs to-do. I will rinse the salt off the
boat, Hal and Bob will look at the water maker. It stopped on Bob's watch
last night, and he tried to restart it. Water sprayed out from behind the
front plate. Hopefully just a hose that needs tighten. Bob will also get
the oil pickup towels from the bilge. We have been working on cleaning the
bilge, since hydraulic oil spilled in Panama. The oil spilled when the
mechanic removed the pump from the PTO. Only 15 to 20 gallons. After the
repair we refilled the makeup tank with 17 gallons, and pumped about the
same from the bilge. Anyway, it is getting much cleaner, and I can see the
bottom for the first time since before the NAR 2004. We also need to go to
the Costco today. We are hoping to do all the shopping we need to do,
before San Diego. San Diego is anywhere, between 5 and 10 days away, depending
on weather. We will shop for ten days, but we need to remember that we will
loose all fruits, and more other foods, at inspection in the states.
