Champlain Canal Dredging

The Good News:  Looks like they will soon be dredging the land cut of the
Champlain Canal from my docks in Fort Edward (Lock C7) up to Whitehall.
That'll change my depth at the docks from the present 5 feet down to 12-14
feet.  Wow!  It is not yet known when this work will begin.  Details are
available here:

And The Bad News:  Canal Corp's new owners, the NY Power Authority has
decided to discontinue the Urger Program.  The 115 year old Tug Urger may
be junked or otherwise parked somewhere, not sure what they will do with
the wonderful old girl.  This boat travels the NY Canal System each year,
going tours to hundreds and hundreds of 4th graders and parents each year.
Losing the boat is a sad sad day.  More info on Tug Urger is here:

Hmmmm ... maybe they'll dump Tug Urger at my dock, she could get in with
the new depth.  :)
