Good morning,
Just a note on stern drives.
I have run just over 3000 nautical miles in the last two years and am quite pleased with the Volvo outdrives behind KAD 43 P Motors.
The area we travel is basically between La Conner, WA. and SE Alaska. As with all underwater gear one must avoid the common hazards we face here In the PNW. In 400 hrs we haven't hit anything that has affected the outdrive and/or Props but a sharp look out is needed and our visibility is very good in the Zeta. The maintenance required is to change the outdrive oil and zincs as scheduled or needed being in Salt Water we also paint the Outdrves with anti-fouling paint. The legs tilt above the bottom so beaching is possible without a grid if necessary. The trim ability is one of the most valuable assets of outdrives and I wouldn't be without it.

Enjoying the list and glad to see growing

Rich,

Thanks for the info.  Glad to hear it!

Can you share what your fuel economy has been at various speeds?

Bob
