Some background: 50 year old lawyer living in Tampa, Florida; married and almost empty-nesters since both kids are in college. I have been boating for my entire life in Florida and Bahamas. Current boat is a World Cat 27TE. After many mono hulls, I switched to catamarans in 1995 and have owned three Cats since. All of the Cats have been small fishing boats (<27') which we regularly run down to the Fla. Keys and/or Bahamas from Tampa. We are now looking into a part time cruising/live aboard catamaran trawler. Current front runners are the Endeavors, PDQs, and maybe the Leopards in the 34-47 foot range. We anticipate our cruising grounds will be the U.S. east coast and Caribbean. As part of our research into a live aboard catamaran we will be chartering a Moorings/Leopard 37' cat in the Abacos this Fall. We like the appearance and aft cabin of the Lagoons but we have yet to see anyone post a photo of the engine access, which makes me wonder if access is a problem. We have also seen more comments about the Lagoons and sneezing than the other breeds of Cat. I have read and re-read nearly all of the posts in the archives before signing up.
