I am the buyer of Diesel Duck 46-2 hull 7.

Is a Selene twice the boat as a Duck? I don't know but doubt it. There is no
question however that the Seahorse Duck is a real big bang for the devalued
USD. As Bob Austin says, for another 50K you get a well equipped boat. This
was a one decision in buying the Duck. Other purchasing decisions were
quality, and the attitude of the builder.

I have been aware of Seahorse since about 98 when working in Hong Kong, and
visited the factory last Dec. The combination of US supervision,
international kit, no middle man, and cheap chinese labour results in a well
built boat at a reasonable price.
The quality was head and shoulders above what I saw in 98 and Bill Kimleys
no nonsence attitude to quality convinced me to put down a deposit on the
spot. Half, as good as, or better than brand X ? I do not know but it was
clear to me that it was a lot of new boat for what I could afford. It seems
that 11 others agree.

Production or custom? Bill Kimley of Seahorse wants to build a production
boat to keep costs and production schedules in check, but at the same time
is is very open to work with the Owner to make some changes. For example in
my case, I wanted a different electrical arrangement, and with Bill's
blessing I retained Arlid Jensen to design me a killer battery, charger,
inverter system.
Bill is open to moving the interior around a bit, and offers several
interior arrangements. Want a flybridge, no problem.

All in all I am really pleased with the value for money, and quality of the
Seahorse Duck. Granted I do not have it yet, but it sure seems well built,
well designed, and pretty to boot. I don't have a spare half million plus
plus anyway.

PS - my West Coast Troller is for sale to in part pay for the Duck.
