ALABAMA STATE UNIVERSITY invites applications for the position of: Acquisitions Collections and Assessment Manager SALARY: Negotiable OPENING DATE: 02/03/12 CLOSING DATE: Continuous JOB DESCRIPTION: Alabama State University, Academic Affairs/University Library, invites applications for the position of Acquisitions, Collections and Assessments Manager. The selected applicant will plan, organize and coordinate the work of Acquisitions, Collections, and Assessments through approved goals and objectives and assist in library wide planning, supervision and training of library staff. The ACAM will supervise and evaluate all Acquisitions, Collections and Assessments staff to include Collection Development, Acquisitions, and Electronic Resources/Serials personnel; provide on the job training and educational workshop for the library staff; maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and annual statistics; assist in planning for library resources and services; assist in collection development activities; write job improvement plans for staff; assist with recruitment of library staff; perform various acquisitions, collections, and assessment functions, including budgetary accountability; participate in the University Library’s Inventory Control Project; develop and administer policies and procedures for Acquisitions, Collections, and Assessments; serve on library and university teams; be responsible for knowledge, understanding, and implementation of procurement software and perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor in support of the library’s mission. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited institution and 3 years of professional library experience are required, preferably in acquisitions, collections, procurement, and/or serials, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
