Next year we will head up the Hudson for our first trip thru the canals. Is there a preferred way , West thru the Erie canal back thru the Champlain or North first? With all the problems on the Erie Canal I would stay flexible and decide at Waterford If the Erie is open then get through that first We did that trip this year and had intended to go Erie first but due to three week delay went Champlain first.
