Dear music lovers, I want to let you know about our latest concert this Sunday, May 19th, at Center for Spiritual Living, 106 J St in Tacoma. The concert is titled Intersections: Jazz/Classical/World Music. I will be playing guitar, cello and oud, and we have Brittain Barber on tenor and soprano sax and Jacob Kehr on percussion. As you've probably guessed, we'll be playing some classical, jazz and world music, but reimagining the music to emphasize the relationship each tune has to each of these musical styles, with their similarities and differences. We're playing a diverse set of music, from Hamza El Din, John McLaughlin, Astor Piazzola, Sarasate and others, in a way that we think is rather unique. Concert is free and donations to Destiny City Music Collective are always appreciated. You can also stream it herehttp://bit.ly/destinycitymusic, and it will also be on our youtube channel later that day.
Speaking of DCMC, we have a scholarship fund, and some openings for private lessons on guitar, cello, bass, ukulele, piano and other instruments as well as a small instrument library to loan. We want to reach anyone with an interest in learning an instrument, regardless of their finances, so if you know anyone who might be interested, please send them our way. Thanks, Ken  destinycitymusic.orghttp://destinycitymusic.org
