Your thoughts on pilothouses ?????

I like outside steering stations for a number of reasons.  First I boat to be out of doors (in good weather).  The visability is better from a higher level.  In adverse conditions you can hear, as well as sea.

The reverse slope of windows tend to have some protection in light rain and also less reflection in some conditions.

Caution may be advised in altering the stablity or center of gravity of the vessel by wheel house modifications. Also windage may change handling characteristics.
