Tonight's program also welcomes dynamic speakers from Tacoma, Spokane, and Aberdeen sharing perspectives on Pride. And, we'll dive into the Washington State Historical Society's collections to explore objects from Pride events of the past.

Pride parades began on June 28, 1970, when two thousand gay and lesbian activists in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago paraded in a new form of social protest marked by celebration and unashamed declaration of stigmatized identities. Today, 51 years later, millions of people across the country participate in Pride parades.
