Vuecrest Picnic Next Week
The Vuecrest neighborhood picnic is scheduled for this Sunday, August 24th, from 4-8pm on the esplanade on Park Road. Stop by and meet your neighbors!
Highlights this year:
- Maximus/Minimus (http://maximus-minimus.com/) will be serving full dinners with barbecue and vegetarian options. We’ll also have pizza available.
- Deano the Clown (http://deanotheclown.com/) will entertain with magic tricks, games and general fun for kids of all ages, beginning at 4pm .
- Bouncy houses - one dedicated to the little tykes and a 30-foot obstacle course for the more adventurous.
- A visit from the fire department (so long as they're not called to duty).
- And last but not least for those with a sweet tooth, save room for Half Pint Ice Cream (http://halfpinticecream.com/) cones and cups.
We must ask that attendance is limited to owners and residents of homes in Vuecrest.
No time to serve on a Vuecrest committee? Don't stress out! Here is your opportunity to support your community. Show up at 3:00 to help our loyal picnic organizers with setting up tables and chairs, etc. Can't make it to the event by 3:00? Then stay until the end and chat with neighbors while breaking down and cleaning up. Our Social Chair Melissa Hambleton greatly appreciates your spirit of volunteerism (as does her husband Bert who doesn't want to be stuck with the job again)!
A perk for our volunteers: No waiting for your dinner - you can be first in line!
Dog Issues
Over the past few months, the board has received a rising number of complaints about dogs running freely in our neighborhood. Several have reported having their dogs (or themselves) being harassed by dogs that are not fenced or on leashes. In addition, dog waste continues to be left on people’s lawns by dogs on the loose.
King County code requires leashes in our area, and considers animals running freely to be a nuisance. Bellevue will issue a fine of $50 for off-leash pets or for animal waste left behind. Bellevue is also stepping up enforcement of pet licensing, which is required for all dogs and cats over eight weeks of age.
Please be considerate of your neighbors and the safety of pets by ensuring that they stay on your property or on leash at all times.
Vuecrest Monthly Board Meeting
Please join us at the next Board Meeting on Thursday, September 4th [7:00 – 9:00 p.m.] at the home of Tatyana Novodran, 9632 Vineyard Crest.
