Keep the $Value in Vuecrest
Did you know that 63% of a house buying decision is made before entering the home?! Overgrown or view blocking foliage affecting our neighborhood will affect your own home’s value whether you’re selling or not.  If views are blocked by trees or vegetation, everyone’s value will be adjusted. So, let’s work together to keep our premier real estate values unspoiled.

Now is a great time to trim your hedges and trees. This past summer has brought exceptional vegetation growth to our neighborhood, often two or three feet. Our neighborhood covenants limit hedges to four feet in the front of the home and six feet elsewhere. In addition, trees and shrubs need to be maintained so that they don’t block views of neighbors. Keeping them to your roofline or below is a good reference point.

Please be a good neighbor and ensure that your landscaping stays under control and within the limits. If you have questions, feel free to contact landscaping@vuecrest.net. mailto:landscaping@vuecrest.net.president@vuecrest.net

Happy SAFE Halloween
We are a popular Halloween neighborhood so be ready to entertain a sizeable group of “trick or treaters”.  As always the safety of these little ones is an important consideration so please allow your guests to park in your driveway or off-site and not on the street which may otherwise expose walkers to traffic. We also encourage you to take extra precautions and drive safely. Please report any non-festive activities to blockwatch@vuecrest.net mailto:blockwatch@vuecrest.net.

Summer Picnic
New and old neighbors met at Vuecrest's annual picnic, which was held on Sunday, August 27th Food and treats, live music, and a very popular animal petting area contributed to a fantastic event, which was well-attended. Many thanks to the outgoing, always well-organized Social Chair Melissa Hambleton and all the volunteers who helped make this possible. Thank you for your years of service, Melissa.

Sumiyoshi/Continental Property Project Update
Here is the October construction schedule for the 24-unit five story rental apartment complex at our east entrance (the northeast corner of 10th and 100th). The 137-unit apartment building will have two levels of underground parking.

The building's roof is currently being installed. Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Sprinkler contractor's rough-in work is up to the 4th floor and currently working on the 5th floor. Window installation has begun on the 5th floor. Scaffolding is scheduled to be completely installed around the perimeter by the middle of the month. Siding is being installed on the West elevation and will continue to the North elevation. Brick is currently scheduled to begin towards the middle of the month.

Bellevue City Council Votes to Invest $1.5M in Vuecrest
Jonathan Kagel has reported that recently the Bellevue City Council voted to invest over a million dollars to update the Vuecrest sewer system. As this ongoing project progresses, it may mean that we will experience some inconvenience, but it will finally move us out of the Truman era so we hope it is perceived as a good thing!

Tough Act to Follow
Since it’s not possible to match the enthusiasm and information level gifted to us by the David and Mara newsletters, I apologize now. They kept us enlightened and informed on everything Vuecrest and locally interesting for two years. They are an amazing couple and offer much time and talent in multiple volunteer areas for our Vuecrest Community. The Newsletter was just one of the many, but it was always my favorite. Thank you, David, and Mara, for a job exceedingly well done!
