Hello Gators,
The Gator Fitness Challenge #2 officially ends on Sunday. Let's finish strong! You can take care of the bike leg (and then some) at our outdoor ride tonight and/or Saturday's ride (tentatively planned to be a pool deck trainer ride + brick run). Also, remember to let us know about any new races you've added to your calendar.
This week's news topics include...
· Accomplishments. Chillin' with a bunch of Gators!!!
· Who's Next?. Hot to trot!!!
· About a Gator... Running with Heather!!!
· Mark Your Calendars. Swim seminar on Monday, April 6!!!
Happy Birthday!: Best wishes to Dave Marine, who celebrated his birthday earlier this week. Tuesday, March 31!!
Accomplishments: It's not often that we have the opportunity to compete for an overall team score, so it was great to have the opportunity to do so AND place 9th overall out of 283 teams at last weekend's chilly Love Run half marathon! That and having 50+ runners participate for our team are great accomplishments! Special thanks to Michelle (and Byron) for putting the team together and coordinating all of our efforts (and acquiring a private Port-A-Potty for the team)! Accomplishments by Gators that raced the event included.
· First Time Half Marathon Finishers: Steph Babiec, Chris Reiter, Jon Wesler. Welcome to the "Half Marathon Finishers Club"!
· New Half Marathon PR's: Suzanne Angelaccio, Maribeth Baker, Adrienne Foster, Jim Foster, Gregg Heimer, Nadine Isabel, Tim Pfluger, Heather Tracey, andHeather Irwin who achieved a PR by over 12 minutes over her previous best!... Awesome job by all!
· Successful Finishers: Eric Afre, Kelly Beauchamp (with a sling), Trevor Bellino, Vince Bellino, Mike Connelly, Ellen Friend, Michelle Leonard, Dean Milligan, Tiff Pfluger, Maureen Pinkerton, Don Schlichtmann, Byron Solvason, Brent Voynar, andAllison Wesler. Excellent effort!
Congrats to all Gators and the many family and friends in attendance!
Who's Next?: This weekend we have one event participant. Heather Tracey will be competing in the "Hot Chocolate Run" 15K that takes place on Saturday, April 4 in Philadelphia. Have a great race, Heather!
About A Gator: Since Heather Tracey is in the middle of a couple of busy weekends of running, we thought it was a good chance to catch up with her while she's catching her breath in this week's edition of "About A Gator"!
