There is going to be a serious passage made in a 50' boat in about a month.
I don't have authority to announce where but you can follow the prep with
my posts. I may or may not respond to questions, but will try if I have time.
So here goes.

Cruising guides.
Fuel locations.
Medical issues. Malaria, Dengue, Yellow Fever, emergency supplies. Latest
CDC reports for areas to be visited.
Routine medicines carried separated to assure against all loss in transit.
DEET for insect repellent.
NO one out on land without insect protection, day or night, except in any
major cities where the risk is VERY low.
Latest Piracy reports for area to be transited.
Wind Meter.
Anchors.
Register foreign goods with US Customs for when returning to the US. Form 4457?
Iridium Sat Phone, or GlobalStar. SIM cards, address for email (SMS) to the
phones.
Weather issues. Tropical Revolving Storm warning centers, wx fax stations.
Installation of equipment to receive wx faxes.
Radio Shack adapters to foreign electrical power (220v, 50cycle).
Warm clothes for cold water segments, cold? clothes for warm water
segments(confusing?).
Sunglasses, sunscreen(SPF 30 or better?, Costco).
Spare radar and SSB
Provision for shipping equipment as freight to take off point. Drop ship
address and contacts.
Country flags for stopovers.
Travel Guides from Lonely Planet or Moon publications for countries
expected to be visited.
Contacts for sending email to. Someone to post same to larger email list
and forums.
Extra handheld vhf radios. Chargers for all portable equipment.
Charts, paper and electronic. Sailing directions. Tide tables.
Survival Suits.
Emergency kit for dinghy. Flares, radio, anchor and line, oars.
Extra GPS, and 406 EPIRB. Update EPIRB registration on web before departure
and on return.
Laptop computer with software.
External 80gbyte hard drive with backup of all data.
Email software with address book.
Web surfing software with URL links. WX and equipment sources.
Spares for water maker, engine, gen set.
Tools.
Clothes for official business.
Ship's stamp, red ink pad.
Ship's papers, US documentation?, radio license, radio operator's license.
Label making machine, Brother, with label material for making signs and
notices.
3 ring binders, Med. or Heavy duty only, 1/2, 1, 1 1/2 and 2 inch with 3
ring punch, at least 30 page capable. Keep boat documentation by area and
subject of boat. Engine room, galley, entertainment, deck, pilothouse,
engines, etc.

A lock box for the controlled stuff.
Hidden safe aboard the boat for money, papers.
A locker to hold items held as "bonded", with lock mechanism and able to be
"sealed".
The proposed route with GPS L/L (approx).
Drifting Buoy Maps, wind maps for latest week or so.
Permethrin for treating clothing against insects. (Wal Mart)
Sandals, shoes, pants, shirts in very light weight 4-5 oz if going into the
tropics.
Documentation in PDF format for all equipment on board, including memos for
any technical issues like medical, prescription drug data sheets and
similar information. Keep this on a PDA and backup on laptop computer.
