East Entrance Safety
Please be careful at the east entrance to our neighborhood. Nearby
neighbors report "close calls" are a frequent occurrence, and that accidents
can occur regularly. Drivers on 100th Ave NE sometimes do not heed the stop
signs, so even if you have the right of way, be sure that it is safe to
proceed. Please contact Bellevue Police for any traffic or safety concern.
East Entrance cleanup
The decorative brick speed device at the east entrance has been refinished
by the City. This is the result of a year-long discussion between your
board members and folks at the city following the paving activities on 100th
Ave NE that caused damage. We appreciate your patience with the road
closure while the work was being done.
Reserves Study and Survey
We have recently completed a formal Reserve Fund study for Vuecrest as is
now required by Washington State law. You can view or download the study
from the Vuecrest web site at the link below.

for%20Vuecrest%20%20%207-18-2012.pdf
The study shows we have about half of what is needed in our Reserve Fund.
We have some options for making up the difference, and the board would like
to hear your opinions on the matter. Please take our online survey and
weigh in with your input. You can find the survey here:

Sinkhole Saga concludes
The "sinkhole" on Vineyard Crest turned out to be an old cistern whose cover
broke, possibly when heavy equipment went across it. It was filled in and
paved over, and the story has happily concluded. The other pavement issue
on Park Road was also quickly addressed by the city. Your patience with the
associated road closures was much appreciated.
Animal Issues
The board has received many reports of animal issues in Vuecrest, from dogs
running loose and aggressive behavior, to animal feces left on people's
yards, to the sheer numbers of animals. Most of us consider our pets like
members of our family. We ask that you please be aware of Bellevue City
Ordinance and Vuecrest covenants with regard to pet dogs and cats:
Bellevue requires that all dogs and cats be licensed with King
County Regional Animal Services (KCRAS).
Bellevue requires that dogs be kept on property or on a leash at
all times. Owners of dogs running at large are subject to fines of $250.
Bellevue also requires that animal feces be picked up and
properly disposed of. A fine of $250 is levied for violations of this
ordinance.
Vuecrest covenants limit residents to no more than two dogs or
two cats.
King County Regional Animal Services (KCRAS) provides administration for
Bellevue's ordinance. You can contact them at 206-296-PETS, or see the web
site: http://www.kingcounty.gov/safety/regionalAnimalServices/GetHelp.aspx
Picnic Update
Please note the date for the annual picnic has been changed to Sunday,
September 9th. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope that we will see
you at this year's event.
Aug Board Meeting canceled
Please note the August meeting of the Vuecrest board has been canceled.
Covenant Corner - Hedge Heights
Please note that hedges are limited to no more than six feet in height in
Vuecrest, and that a hedge on the street side of any property cannot be more
than four feet in height. Please help everyone by keeping your hedges
pruned consistently with the covenants in Vuecrest. Thank you.
