Do your clients have a policy regarding deleting emails?

I am working with a municipality that seems to need one.  Some employees delete emails quickly - maybe even as soon as the issue is resolved. Others never delete emails.

I'd appreciate advice and examples, if possible.

Thank you,

I don't have a policy to offer, but I will offer a bit of insight.
Depending on how your email system is setup, this could be addressed on the
server end in terms of retention. Employee could delete an email from their
inbox, but the server could still be setup to save everything for a defined
period of time. Also, just because they deleted an email doesn't mean it's
gone. It should still be in their "trash" and, depending on how they have
their email setup on their computer, it may stay in the "trash" until they
manually empty the trash.
