You might consider the use of reflective material for the lettering of

your boats name - it is heaver and lasts  quite well - the additional cost
is quite small (the material is made by 3 M )

I picking out a style ( font ) for the lettering - print out a sample

of several that you like - say at 1/2 inch  size -  and standing accross
the room from them - see which one you can read the best ... you may find
that many are simply unreadable - though they look good ' close up ' !

The lettering on Mrs. Hudson was made at a commercial sign shop - at

much more reasonable cost than any estimate provided by " marine "
sources --- ain't it always the way !!

All the Best
