We have a good forecast from our weather router Bob at OMNI, so we
plan for Bluewater to depart Anegada Island, BVI, at 0900 Wednesday
for the 825-mile passage to Bermuda. Our ETA at St. Georges,
Bermuda, is 0900 Monday, May 22, and we expect to arrive at Royal
Bermuda Yacht Club that afternoon. Unless communications problems
prevent, we will send a sitrep each day as of 1200, updating our
position, weather, and ETA Bermuda.
Shortly before departing Road Town, Tortola, today we received the
Bermuda import permit for Katy and took on duty free fuel
($2.50/gal.), so we are departing with full tanks and a "legal" dog.
From Bob's forecast, it appears that wind and seas will be aft of our
beam for most of the passage, but we'll believe that when it happens!
Onboard for this passage: Milt, Judy, the salty sea dog Dean Wiley,
and the other salty sea dog Schipperke Katy.
