Beginning on February 1, 2016, all employers (including environmental non-profits) will be required to provide up to 24 hours of paid leavehttp://www.cityoftacoma.org/cms/one.aspx?objectId=75860 annually to employees who work in Tacoma.  The leave can be used for temporary time off of work for health or safety needs.  Paid Leave rules and regulations have been drafted and are available online for reviewhttp://cms.cityoftacoma.org/finance/paid-leave/tacoma-paid-leave-rules-and-regulations-draft.pdf.  Give us your feedback and help ensure that the final rules are tailored to work for your organization.  Join us at the June 25th public hearing (info below) or email paidleave@cityoftacoma.orgmailto:paidleave@cityoftacoma.org to weigh in.  You can also sign up for email updateshttps://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/WATACOMA/subscriber/new?topic_id=WATACOMA_183 to stay informed on issues related to Paid Leave.
