Annual Meeting Reminder
Please note our annual meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov 16th, from
7-9pm, in Pearson Hall at Grace Lutheran Church. As always, we will review
the year past, present budget and plans for the coming year, vote on the
budget and elect directors to the board. We hope to see you there! If you
can't attend, please be sure to mail in your completed ballot no later than
the day of the meeting. Thank you.

Block Watch Update
Congratulations to the nearly 50 people who've opted in to our Block Watch
email list. You are all getting updates from Detective Chinn and are
plugged in to our Neighborhood Block Watch network.
Covenant Corner
Here we start a new regular feature in the View. Covenant Corner will
periodically review elements of our covenants (known in Vuecrest as the
Protective Restrictions) in an effort to remind owners and residents of our
shared responsibility as members of the Vuecrest Community, and how they
support keeping our property values firm. This month's feature - trees.
Vuecrest has long been considered a "view" community - its streets were laid
out to take maximum advantage of the beautiful views, and covenants
established to protect them. One of the protections centers around trees.
On the topic of trees, our covenants say, "no trees or shrubs on any of the
Property shall be permitted to reach a height that will obstruct the
main-floor view of the adjacent or neighboring properties".
The board interprets that to mean that no tree can block any neighbor's view
from the main living areas on the main floor of their house. As an easy
rule, a tree should generally not get taller than the roof ridge of your
house. If it is higher, it may be obstructing a view. Trees that are
obstructing views should either be pruned or removed. The board never
recommends topping trees, as it is unhealthy for the tree as well as
unsightly.
Please take a moment and check. If you have a view obstructing tree, please
prune or remove it.
Halloween Thanks
A big Vuecrest thank-you to Aleta Taylor, for suggesting and acting on a
great idea to post signs at our entrances on Halloween, encouraging drivers
to park their cars, and walk with their trick-or-treaters around the
neighborhood. This really helped to reduce the amount of vehicular traffic
and improved safety for all the children. Ideas for next year are already
brewing. Want to get involved? Email social@vuecrest.net or
