The topic of what is the best boat for doing the Loop has been frequently
discussed here.  But as you know, Skipper Bob once said the right boat is
the smallest one you can be comfy on.  Well, Julia Holmes has extended the
standard.  She completed her trip on the Erie Canal, rowing 350 miles in a
homemade rowboat.  Next year she intends to continue down the Mississippi
River to New Orleans.

You'll love the picture of the boat being built inside her apartment!

What a wonderful adventure! An accomplishment she will have all her life. Some people say they are going to do something extraordinary like this but they never get it done. It just remains a dream. Her dream came true and I hope she has many more!
