Contribute to this beloved community project The Monkeyshine Project [cid:image002.jpg@01D48893.4A52FDF0] Monkeyshines began in 2003 when a group of anonymous artists banded together in Tacoma to produce 200 glass balls and medallions emblazoned with the Year of the Monkey stamp. On Chinese New Year 2004, those pieces of artwork were hidden throughout the city to encourage our community members to get out and explore. The artists have been creating glass gifts for 16 years now, and this year, the Year of the Boar, marks the fourth year of the 12 year Chinese New Year calendar. In 2018, with your help, they were able to produce 1600 glass gifts. For 2019 their goal is to be able hire more local artists to produce up to 2000 pieces of glass!
