Guys, I don't think it's a secret that I hate running. I normally follow
the old adage that I run only when chased. It's one of the reasons I moved
from fullback to front row when I lessened my running. What Coach said last
night really struck home for me. I will raise my hand as someone who has
been shirking his fitness duties. I have no problem lifting, but running
has never been fun for me.

That said, it is very evident that there is no place to hide our fitness
(or lack thereof) in the new game-plan Coach Borlase is teaching us. With
that in mind, I will be dragging my ass out of bed at 5:19am and doing
15-20 minutes of cardio every morning. I run when chased, and you guys are
chasing me. If you don't do your part, you'll find my old ass is chasing
you.

Guys, I think this goes along with how we were running our lines last night during coach Pete's attacking drill. Being assertive, taking things into your own hands, and most importantly wanting "it" is something we have to improve. Sitting back and not running on your own time is comparable to just running through the motions during practice. Get better everyday. Get better with every rep in practice. Run today and come ready to work Thursday.
