Bob: I think what Richard is referring to is large size balloons. fenders, etc which rest on the side of hull. As the boat rolls they offer resistance to the roll. Personally not very effective like flopper stoppers. Also these chocks affect the steering effort to be erratic. However they are a cheap way to prevent rolling. Leonard Stern, INDIFFERENCE
