These guys are unbelievable?  It seems like yesterday they were in the ice and now they are closing on Cape Town?  They make the open ocean crossing look like a cake walk.  I guess it's all relative, considering where they started.  I think there is more to these guys than meets the eye.  I'm amazed.

Position @ noon: 1737' S & 00346' W
noon to noon 148.8 nm
Avg. speed: 6.2 knots
Course bearing: 134 °T
Sea state & wx: 9' seas, mainly sunny, 14
kt wind from SE, apparent headwind 15* to
starboard, water temp. 22 C
Crew: Ben, Brad, & Kevin
Days: 1 days out of St. Helena
Goal: fetch Cape Town before Christmas
To go: 1541 nm

Remarks:

Sun up and wind down, increased rpm to 1850 and
going 7.5 kts. The swells are still high but
long period between and no sharp crests so we can
go faster without pounding as we go over the
crest. Kevin spotted 2 Orcas (Killer whales)
yesterday. They were right beside the boat for a
spell and playful as dolphins so we were all out
picturing.
