Ontario Rare Bird Alert for the week starting July 23, 2021

YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON (Niagara, Oxford)

SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER (Cochrane)
Blue Grosbeak (Norfolk)
BLACK-BELLIED WHISTLING-DUCK (Elgin): Three birds were seen by many at
Rodney Sewage Lagoons July 27 and 28.
Cattle Egret (Haldimand): One bird was near Dunnville on July 27 and 28.
YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON (Niagara): One juvenile was at Happy Rolph Bird
Sanctuary in St. Catharines July 25-27.
YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON (Oxford): A late report from last week came in
of one juvenile was photographed along the Nith River near Canning on July
22.
Western Kingbird (Rainy River): A presumed family group of three was at
Sable Island July 29.
SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER (Cochrane): One bird was photographed and seen by
several observers just west of Timmins July 23.
Blue Grosbeak (Norfolk): The young male continued, being seen and heard
pretty much daily in the field at the SE corner of Hwy 24 and E Quarter
Line, north of Port Rowan.
