We are scheduled to pickup our line handlers and pilot at 16:30 central time
today.  We should be at the Gatun Locks between 17:30 and 18:00 central
time.  If you see us then, you can look for us again in about 4 hours at
Miraflores.  The whole trip should be about 8 to 10 hours.

The web page is at:  http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html

As you know this is only a plan, we might know more this afternoon, but once
we leave this marina we will not have internet.

We had another adventure yesterday.  We took the marina bus to the bus
station in Colon.  What a dump, but we got on a bus to Panama City.  We went
a few blocks and the driver got out, looked at something and went back to
the station.  A hour later we left on another bus.  The ride was two hours,
thru mostly back roads, full of holes and bumps.  Panama city looks much
nicer and the bus station was great.  We got a taxi and went to the
Miraflores Lock.  We planned to visit the museum and have lunch, so we told
the taxi to pick us up in two hours.  I forgot we are in Panama.  The food
at the restaurant was great, the view was out of this world, and the service
was dead slow.  It took us the full two hours to eat lunch, but we got to
see the locks and a few boats going thru.  So we will have to go back if we
want to see the museum.  The taxi was there right on time and we went back
to the bus station.  Jumped on a bus and waited an hour for it to leave.  It
took us one and one-half hours going back, as we got off before the bus
station.  We got a taxi and went to the Panama City Yacht Club for drinks
and dinner.  As we had just finished lunch, I did not eat, but I had a beer.
The Taxi came back and took us to the Marina.  It is quite a ride to the
marina, as we have to cross the canal, and wait for boats.  We got back to
the boat about 8:30 PM, and I was tried from the all day bus and taxi ride.

We just unhooked from the marina, and they are making up our bill. That
means I am about to loose internet, so I will stop here.  I hope we go thru
tonight, and I hope some of you see us on the web camera.  But if I am still
here tomorrow, or someplace else, I will write.

Just saw three sailboats rafted together heading towards the camera. Anybody
know which way the Miraflores' camera is facing - Pacific or Atlantic?

It looks to me like the Miraflores camera is facing Miraflores lake, so
it would be facing away from the Pacific.  If they were heading toward
the camera, they would be crossing into the Pacific.

I don't see them yet, but there is a last 20 images option below that's
cool. You can watch a container ship sink down in the lock and the mules
racing around. The Atlantic bound lock appears empty.
