Larry H, That July 1st statement probably had to do with a desire to get out of there early before winter sets in, and also to avoid black-fly season ... that's my guess. Most folks don't like boating in snow storms, though I'm used to it. Be sure to stop in Fort Edward on your trip back down the Champlain Canal.
