Reid,
Thanks for your reply and setting the record straight. Tom also replied too. Thank you both! I was not able to attend the meeting this week, so I made the mistake of going by what was sent out by someone not authorized by the board on the minutes or what was said in the meeting. I knew that the statement in that email about changing Halloween had to be wrong because no one in their right mind with kids would say that about Halloween or try to change it.
Please if anyone wants to email about the minutes of the board meeting, please let the board approve it first before sending it out to make sure it’s correct and not saying information that the board did not talk about. Because of an incorrect statement on an unapproved email, about the board meeting or what was said at the meeting, has caused a fire storm for our board members and community. Halloween is a great celebration for our neighborhood and brings the community together. We have enough problems outside our gates to worry about.

I resent your claim that I am trying to cause trouble in the neighborhood contrary to the By laws and covenants. You are making a serious accusation and I would like you to provide to all the resident members the parts of By laws and covenants that support your claim. I also do not understand why reporting of what actually went on in a board meeting is an opinion of one resident. Facts are facts.
Our board is very poor about communicating what goes on in board meetings, relying on minutes that are kept secret until they are posted months after a meeting. As residents, we are entitled to know what goes on in a board meeting. The board acts on behalf of the residents and is not above the residents. I would much prefer for the board to take the initiative on giving timely communication to the member residents. However in the current vacuum, I have a personal view that it is better for the residents to be informed by a concerned resident than to be left uninformed.
Clearly most of the reaction is around the statement that trick-or-treating would be on Saturday. That is not my opinion. I just reported what the board stated.
