::: ARTIST CALL - HOW DO YOU MONET? :::
(proposals due January 28 @ 1:00 p.m.)

Application Link: https://forms.gle/pQ4wwojqnJ62ofqk7
Claude Monet was part of a group of artists known as the Rejects because they bucked the artistic norms of their time. Now his work is seen as classical museum art, but then he was revolutionary in how he approached painting, exploring his environment through light, texture, and emotion translated through brushstrokes.  Monet was "enthusiastically run down by every critic of the period."
We are seeking a select group of South Sound-based visual artists to commission new works of art in response to the prompt...
How do you "Monet"?  Your personal interpretation of Monet's style, approach, and/or impact; calling on his use of light, texture, and landscape.

  • January 28, 2024 @ 1:00 p.m.- Application process closes
  • February 5, 2024 - Artist selections announced
  • March 1, 2024 - Final pieces must be ready for photography and print production
  • March 14-22, 2024 - Sometime in this window, pieces go on display in the Imagine Monet post-experience space

Completed application proposals are due by January 28th , 2024 at 1:00 p.m., and will be reviewed by a community panel of local artists and entrepreneurs from Tacoma Arts Live's small business incubator: ACE, Accelerating Creative Enterprise.

If selected, your written submissions will be shared on social media channels to help support a larger community conversation about the work of Claude Monet and it's relevance today.
